Dutch Agri City project

The people behind Dutch Agri City are: Ranj Farhad, Buar Nawzad and Jeroen Hummel. For the local visibility, we linked the project to Gardenia’s nursery, called Gardenia Production Compound. Dutch Agri City is often used in this text and will be abbreviated to DAC.

DAC has permits to agriculturally develop its own 2850 donum land (more than 700 ha) in the fertile Region Sulymania / Sharezur (near the city of Halabja).

Mainly crops will be grown on DAC, which can be consumed or used in horticulture.

Some of the plants we are growing now are: Rosemary, Lavender, Thuja, Jeniperus, Berberis, Ilex, Euonumus, Aurizonicas, Photinia, Washingtonia, and Bamboos. But also pomegranate, citrus, melons, potatoes and kidney beans are grown at DAC.

There are currently various Dutch growers who provide us with cuttings and planting material, and there are also tree growers who support us in the production of shrubs and conifers.

In addition to this project, we have also started recycling organic residual waste. We shred and chop the pruning waste and we also process horses and chicken manure. By using the compost we have made, we try to make the land more sustainable and to preserve it from exhaustion.
